Late Season Muzzleloader Whitetail $2,495+tax $750 trophy fee upon kill or leathal wound. 140 " minimum Antler restriction. $500 penalty.
Our Late Muzzle Loader Hunts usually start a week or two after Christmas. The majority of your time will be spent in stand overlooking Food sources in box blinds and ground blinds. Very in climate weather is the key to success here. I repeat this is a weather dependant hunt. If you show up, and it is 20-30 degrees above normal, the hunting will not be as good as it is normally, and we have no control over that. The nastier the better for your hunt. Big bucks are making themselves much more visible in daylight hours due to the need to restore their bodies fat resources. For our Late Season Hunt we only recommend an evening hunt, as to not stir up the timber during the day, and drive deer out of their bedding areas. Therefore the mornings are spent sleeping in and just sitting around the lodge enjoying conversation. The mature bucks have been chased to the point of near starvation, and need to replenish their fat reserves. So we hunt standing food sources and pray for very cold weather. Be prepared, because we have been known to see sizeable snow fall this time of year. We suggest bringing a well sighted in Muzzle loader with a scope that works well in low light. With a mix of row crop, food plots, and open crossings your bones will be nervously chilled when that Trophy shows himself. So make sure you are on target and are good out to 200 yards. Although with the advancement of todays Muzzleloaders, make sure you know what your bullet will do also on a deer when it impacts it. Too many hunters shoot an inappropriate load and end up wounding that buck of a lifetime. Practice shooting your firearm several times before you show up in camp.
